I first learned about YEAA when a student rep came into my accounting class at UMass Amherst during my sophomore year and made a brief announcement about a summer internship where you could learn how to run a business in the summertime. I put my name down on a clipboard that the rep had passed around, and after receiving a call the next day, I attended an info session. From that moment, I knew I wanted to do the internship. After receiving an offer for the branch manager role, I dove head first. I ran my first business with YEAA in the summer of 2019 out of my hometown, Essex, MA. By the end of the summer, my team and I had run a $110,048 business. Through this, I had the opportunity to provide $30,000+ of income to four college students and personally earned just over $20,000 in revenue that summer. I was invited back to join YEAA as a mentor the next year and learned how to scale my business and, in doing so, provide the internship I had just completed to 6 college students from UMass and UConn. In 2021, we expanded to UNH, UVM, and several other Boston-based colleges. In three years, I led 18 first-time entrepreneurs to earn $340,000 in summer earnings and oversaw $2 Million in student businesses. In doing that, we created over 200 full-time summer and part-time spring jobs for students in the New England area. I joined the company full-time in the fall of 2021 and now have the pleasure of mentoring and leading the New England region of our company. We aim to take back the Division of the Year trophy for the best division in the company. So let’s go to New England!
