“After three successful years of running my own branch of Student Painters I was looking for a new challenge. The General Manager role provided a new challenge for me along with tremendous personal growth. The ability to effectively manage other managers is something that I learned through trial and error. Student Painters provided me the guidance and support to not only be effective in this new position but to flourish. I now enjoy training new managers each year to become successful entrepreneurs. I have been with Student Painters since 1997 and each year seems to bring on new and exciting challenges. To this day I know of no better summer opportunity for college students to enhance their future marketability and I am proud to be a part of Student Painters.”

“Looking back to four years ago, I was just another college student. My sophomore year I took a Branch Manager position with Student Painters; in the hope of making good money to help pay my way through school and to build my resume. In my first summer, I made $13,000, but more importantly, I went from a college student to someone who knew he would succeed in the real world. While my friends were working for $10/hr over the summer, I was setting myself up for a great career after graduation. I came back my second year and made $18,000 over the summer and continued to build my business skills. As a senior in college, I was a Regional Manager for the company. I learned to be an executive, recruiter, trainer, and supervisor of people for a company, which again was experience I could get nowhere else. Upon graduation, while interviewing with large corporations, I blew away recruiters with my story, and was offered several great positions. I turned them all down to take on a new territory for Student Painters as a General Manager in the hopes of developing myself to the highest degree. For anyone that wants to set themselves apart from the rest of their peers and take on a challenge that gives you the ultimate experience you can get nowhere else, I encourage you to take a management position with Student Painters.”

“My job with Student Painters is to develop motivated college students into successful entrepreneurs. Through proven training, I will give each manager on my team the knowledge and encouragement needed to open and operate a small painting business in their hometown. I am here to give guidance when problems arise and offer help whenever necessary. After completing $140,000 worth of business over two summers, I have more than enough advice to give!”

“In the past few years I have found my role as a District Manager exceptionally rewarding. I am responsible for recruiting, training, and developing new incoming branch managers into becoming successful entrepreneurs. It is amazing to see how much a person can grow and mature into a successful business person throughout only one summer. As an Executive, my commitment is to maximize the experience and development of each Branch Manager. College students will gain the necessary real life business skills that are crucial upon their graduation. My goal each year is to ensure every Branch Manager runs a successful business making enough profit to assist them in paying their college tuition.”

“Working as a District Manager for Student Painters is a challenging and rewarding position. Being in the position to help other branch managers open and run a successful business, as well as running my own, is very exciting for me. The responsibility I have is far beyond what any other job could offer at such a young age. To be able to have an opportunity to essentially realize my own potential, while helping others reach theirs, is something I will never forget. Growing within the company has been an experience in itself and I know it will help me throughout my career.”

“Student Painters has been the most rewarding work that I have experienced. As a District Manager, I have learned how to manage numerous personalities, and gained priceless information that could not be obtained in school. Where else can you manage your own schedule to fit your own needs while turning over a great profit. Just as important, I feel like family within the company. I have created friendships that will be with me for life. It is truly a company that I am happy to grow with and am proud to be a part of.”

“This will be my fourth year with the Student Painters organization. My role as a District Manager will be to guide and support new managers in achieving their goals using the experience I have gained myself over the past four years with the company. This experience is like no other, the knowledge I have gained about how to run your own small business and make a profit will jump start my career upon graduation.”

“I can remember sitting in class last year wondering how, as a freshman in college, I was ever going to find a summer job that offered me some real world business experience. Student Painters not only filled that void, but it allowed me to earn more money than I ever thought I’d make in college and gave me the confidence that comes with running a legitimate, profitable business at nineteen years old. I ran a $50,000 business with profits exceeding $9,000. Student Painters really is a great company, and I’m already excited to do it again next summer as a Regional Manager.”

“When I was first hired back in October of 2006, my apprehensions were probably the same as everyone else’s: I don’t know how to sell work, market, hire painters or even paint. All of these hesitations were put to rest within the first few months of the preseason. I am writing this letter now in August, having completed my first year as a branch manager, and I can honestly say that I love this job. Never would I have expected the freedom and opportunity that was given to me; not to mention the money. The Student Painters Executive Team, particularly Charlie Licari, gave me all of the advice and training necessary to run a $100,000 business and profit $20,000. I am grateful for the trust that Student Painters had in me, but, as I told Charlie throughout the summer, I am nothing special. The reason I was able to accomplish such an intimidating feat at the age of 19 was because I did what I was told. That’s all there is to it. Yes, there was some creativity involved, but Student Painters supplies you with every bit of knowledge that anyone would need in order to have a very successful summer.”

“My experience with Student Painters has really been a great opportunity, not only for the knowledge I have gained through running my own business, but also for the future as I feel confident it will help me to become a successful businessman down the road. Being a freshman in college there aren’t many opportunities out there that can compete with this internship. I had originally chose to go with Student Painters primarily for the good money involved and to make the free cruise at the end of the summer, but I truly feel like the entire journey of starting and managing a $50,000 business almost all by myself as just a freshman in college is worth more to me than the money and cruise ever will. This internship is very unique and rewarding, and I would highly suggest this great opportunity to anyone who is remotely interested in the business field.”

“As a District Manager for Student Painters I have gained the experience necessary to run a small business. This experience has molded me into the young businessman I am today and will be extremely helpful upon graduation when future employers are looking at my resume. Being a District Manager with Student Painters offers me the chance to pass on my knowledge to incoming Managers and help them become entrepreneurs. Being able to guide and follow these new Managers throughout their experience with Student Painters is something I am very proud to say I can do.”

“This summer has been one of the best learning experiences of my life. Not only did I learn how to manage my crews efficiently, but I also gained other valuable skills throughout the summer. I now know how to sell, recruit, market, interview, organize, time manage, and deal with different customer scenarios. As a branch manager and a 20 year old I made approximately $19,000 and produced $81,000 in jobs during the summer, leading me to become one of the top managers in our division. From my diligent efforts this summer I now have the opportunity to grow with the company and become a Regional Manager for Student Painters.”

“When I was trying to decide whether or not I would accept a position with Student Painters as a branch manager, I was often told about how much of an experience this job was. I believed it to be true, but I did not understand how much of an experience it really was until the end of the summer and I looked back on everything I had done. I really did run a $50,000 business myself and it wasn’t that difficult. There were low points in my business but it’s a great feeling to know that you pushed through the difficult times and had a successful summer. Student Painters provides great support in terms of training, marketing, the office payroll system, and the ability to communicate with other managers with years of experience. If you’ve got big goals in life, Student Painters will give you the experience you need to get started.”

“I was hired into Student Painters at the age of 18 while attending college, and was given the opportunity to run my own business, hire my own employees, market my business, and earn a huge profit, while leading my team to a successful summer. Now at the age of 22 I am in the position to grow my business to nearly $750,000 in sales and 75 employees. The opportunities here at Student Painters are endless. My passion as an entrepreneur is focused on developing college students into successful entrepreneurs themselves. I have the privilege to take an otherwise normal college student and turn them into a successful business leader. Here at Student Painters you will learn to adapt to change, make tough decisions on a daily basis, how to handle stress like a true entrepreneur, and might I mention have the time of your life!”

“My second consecutive year with Student Painters benefited me very well. I was able to run about a $115,000 business while profiting about $16,000 dollars. I used every mistake I made my first year as a rookie to my advantage. With all the knowledge from my first year I ran a much more smooth business, making it almost easy. I really believe the experience I’ve had within this company will no doubt put me in front of the majority of my peers. I look forward to continuing my success with Student Painters for the third year and hope to double my total production.”

“If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be running my own business, employing ten people, preparing my own payroll, marketing and estimating all of my own business, I would have thought they were crazy. Student Painters gave me the confidence and support I needed to run a successful business. When my friends were busy cutting lawns and working as busboys, I was busy producing $75,000 worth of work and earning close to $20,000 all in a single summer. In the near future when employers are looking at my resume, it is going to feel good to know that I have the upper hand because of my experience through Student Painters. I am a young person with no prior experience in business, and now after four months I will feel more comfortable after graduation about joining the business world with the experience I have gained through Student Painters.”

“What can I say about Student Painters? Honestly, words could never describe the amazing experience I had with this company. In my two summers with Student Painters I learned far more than my what just my college education could teach me about business and far more about myself than I ever thought possible. I would have to say that my work within the company jump started my career and put me far ahead of my peers. My business and people skills are far beyond that of the average young adult and for that I owe Student Painters. Again, words cannot say how much I have grown and learned from this company. To anyone with the dedication and determination to outperform and achieve great things, then I highly recommend the branch manager position.”
